This is the most awkward growth stage of teenagers' lives, between 13 and 19 years of age. During this time, teens are exposed to some overwhelming external and internal struggles. They go through, and are expected to cope with hormonal changes, puberty, social and parental forces, work, and school pressures, and so on.
Many teens feel misunderstood. Their feelings and thoughts must be validated. If parents approach their children, who have been dealing with teenage growth issues, respectfully and lovingly, they may discover what issues their teen is struggling with. Some teens struggle with:
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Peer pressure
- Substance Abuse & Addiction
- Low self-esteem, low confidence
- Lack of mental strength skills
There is one skill holding them back from being an overcomer of these issues: lack of self-management. Personal growth is empowering with youth leadership building skills.
